SolveCraft was the original name of the open-source parametric CAD app now called SolidCraft. It is the same project, by the same developer (bherbruck on GitHub).

What to do if you installed SolveCraft
- Windows: install the latest SolidCraft from the SolidCraft download page.
- macOS: install SolidCraft, then move the old
SolveCraft.appto the Trash so you don't keep two copies. - Linux Flatpak: if you installed from the SolidCraft remote,
flatpak update --usermarksai.storyteller.solvecraftas end-of-life and offers to replace it withai.storyteller.solidcraft. Accept, and your settings and autosaves move over. If you installed a.flatpakbundle, install the new bundle, launch it once (it copies your settings), then runflatpak uninstall --user ai.storyteller.solvecraft.
Old files and settings
.solvecraftdesign files still open in SolidCraft. New saves use.solidcraft.- Designs, settings and setups from builds released under the old name keep working, according to the project's getting-started guide.
Old MCP configs
If you connected an AI agent while it was called SolveCraft, your config may say solvecraft-cli. The compatibility notes still list claude mcp add solvecraft -- solvecraft-cli mcp as a legacy alias, but new setups should use:
claude mcp add solidcraft -- solidcraft-cli mcp
Full setup is on the SolidCraft MCP page.
Not the Minecraft modpack
Search results for "solvecraft" also show a Minecraft modpack called Solve Craft and other unrelated projects. They have nothing to do with the CAD app.
